A domain name registrar is an organization or commercial entity, accredited by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) or by a national country code top-level domain (ccTLD) authority, to manage the reservation of Internet domain names in accordance with the guidelines of the designated domain name registries and offer such services to the public.

How to transfer domain name and content to new owner?
Q. I maybe selling my website. How would I go about transferring my domain name and all its content over to new owner? I've never done this before. What if the new owner would like to transfer the domain name and all its content over to a different hosting company? What needs to be done on my part to transfer the domain name and all its content over to a new hosting company for new owner?

A. Your domain name has nothing to do with your hosting service other than it is used to direct someone to your site. It simply makes it easier for people to find your site. You dont need a domain name to have a site.

How long does it usually take for a domain to transfer from one registrar to another?
Q. So I switched companies for my website. When I go to the Control Panel of my new host, it says the domain is waiting for approval. I received an email saying that they sent the required forms to my old host and that they were just waiting for approval. How long does this process usually take? I need for it to be ready by Monday (the change was done on Thursday). Thanks in advance.
