A. look on whois. there are 2 links there. input your domain name (without the WWW.) and see what it says on there. I don't think thats true, I am not excellent with domains, but I had a customer today who renwed their Domain on 15th May and it is saying this on whois now and it hasn't been a month. I would of thought it would say it straight away.

What software does surpassdomains.com use for domain name management? Looking for another registrar using this
Q. I have been searching for a domain name registrar and I can't stand the user interfaces many companies offer for domain name management. Many are too cluttered and focused on trying to get more of my money. I just want to register a few domain names and manage them all in one place without having to deal with all the clutter. I have used surpassdomains.com in the past and I like their domain management interface but I need a domain reseller that offers identity protection for less than $20 per domain. I would like to find out what software surpassdomains uses, and other domain registrars using that software. Thanks!

How to buy a domain name, opposed to leasing one.?
Q. I would like to buy a domain name, instead of paying a yearly fee to lease one through an authorized reseller. Is that possible, and how do I go about doing it?
Asked by J - Wed Aug 19 23:58:45 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. I believe you will always pay for a domain name each 2 years. You may be talking about owning a exclusive domain name that is already registered to someone who has the right to it. Even that person must pay each year to keep it registered. It only cost a few bucks each year. Check this out.

Asked by fourwings7 - Thu Oct 4 02:06:06 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. primary because, well, someone has to tell you where yahoo.com is, and a secondary in case the first one is pushing up the daisies (or has hiccups). In my experience, more than two does not make sense. If DNS information must come from three non-overlapping sources, something is wrong. The idea behind DNS is that things are hierarchically organized (.com, .net...) and that each level below gets more detailed. When you query your primary DNS, it may have the answer or it may be able to refer you to a DNS that has the answer. Not sure what your registrar is telling you. DNS can get rather technical. O'Reilly has a good book on this topic if you must know everything.

Q. What's a reseller in domain name registration and what does a reseller do? What's the right?
Asked by Dorky - Tue Feb 27 03:40:31 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. A reseller in this case is a person or company that has business arrangement(s) with domain name registrar(s) to register domain names. If you, for example, wants to register 'yourname.com', you can register it with registrars or resellers. Resellers get a small fee from registrars for getting customers to register with them.

Domain Registration firstnamelastname.com taken by domain reseller?
Q. I have a question, I wanted to register domain name with my full legal name .com and I found out that domain is being sold from domain registar ... ( basically I have to submit my bid and they have to accept it )... well I submitted a bid of $100 and they declined my offer... and asking for $5000 or more... The thing is I used to own this domain name... and I simply let it go - and never renew it - and registrar company took it over... Are there any legal rights that I can ask in order to have my domain name back? Can the company own domain name ( that is somebodies else legal name ? ) and they have nothing in common with that name. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank You

A. I'm not sure that it is a business. I think if you have a domain name server you can register domains. It is more of a standard than a business. I found this: That organisation oversees domain names but isn't a business but a non-profit organisation.

A. Wow dude, you might be in over your head. Cpanel is extreamly easy but as for selling hosting it will be hard. First, you need to point your domain to your webhosting DNS server. should be something like. ns1.yourdomain.com ns2.yourdomain.com Then in cpanel you have to set up your hosting to accept the domain. It should be under parked domains or something like that. From there, I hope you know your way around ftp's and web designing.

A. I've had problems with Beta recently, and have reverted back to Classic. try this: My work-around is to use the old classic Yahoo Mail until it is fixed. Log out of all Yahoo sites. Go to this site: That should put you into a login screen. Login, and it will then put you into the Beta introductory offer. Click "No thanks, remind me later" and that should get your account to revert back to Yahoo Mail "classic". See if that gets you in.
