How do you register for a specific political party if you are already registered to vote?
Q. I am a registered voter but am not registered for a specific political party...how do I go about registering? All of the sites I have checked simply allow you to change your address, not party.
Asked by Stine - Sun May 6 05:57:57 2007 - - 7 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Call up the voting registrar and let him know your voting preferences. Being a registered voter you should be able to participate in your party's next primary election.

How do I register myself as the new registered keeper of a Car if I didn't know the previous owner?
Q. I bought a car from an auction recently. It has got a V5 with it but because it was an insurance write off (Cat D) I don't have the Signature of the previous owner. What should I do to register myself as the new registered keeper?
Asked by Joe B - Fri May 8 14:56:27 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you didn't get a TITLE with that car, then you didn't buy that car. Even if it was a writeoff, there SHOULD have been a title given to you, with paperwork, allowing the ownership to transfer to you. There's no such thing as a car 'keeper'. Either you own it - and have a title - or you don't.

Does the registered keeper of a vehicle have to be on an insurance policy?
Q. I am the co-buyer and am the only one who drives the car. My sister is actually the registered keeper. Can I list her down on the policy as being an excluded driver?

A. You'll have to contact the lienholder or talk to your insurance agent. At Farmers I try to put the person with the best financial score and driving record as the primary holder.

What is the difference between registered and unregistered shares?
Q. I am trying to register a stock plan and I'm not sure what the difference is between registered and unregistered shares.

A. Here is my take: Unregistered shares are those that are bought and sold through a stock broker. These shares are held "in street name." This means that the shares are held in the name of the stock brokerage, on behalf of you. All share related info (proxy voting, statements, etc.) is passed through your stock broker. All dividends are paid through the broker, and usually end up as cash in your broker account Registered shares are bought and sold directly through the company, and in some cases you will receive an actual stock certificate. All stock material is sent through the actual company (or a firm that handles the paper work for them). All dividends are paid mailed out as check directly to you, or are re-invested as more shares in… [cont.]

How many registered voters are there expected to be in 2008?
Q. Does anyone have a link to a resource that estimates the number of registered voters for the 2008 election? I've tried the US census website to no avail so far. It's for a marketing report, and I've had no luck in finding any figures past 2004. Thanks!

A. You're probably going to have to wait until the election to see how many people voted. Then take that number and multiply by a factor of 2.5 to get the actual number of registered voters in the country.

How much roughly will a corgi registered engineer to connect a gas boiler?
Q. Neighbour had a gas condencing boiler , water tank and tank in the attic fitted but he is not registered corgi. He is getting a corgi registered engineer to come out and connect the gas to the boiler as all the pipes are all in place. Will he produce a certificate for this work and how much do you think this would cost. She has been quoted over a thousand pounds just to get the gas connected and provide a certificate.
Asked by ANDREW - Thu Jul 15 11:38:04 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. There is more to being Gas Safe registered than connecting gas pipes. Has the the boiler and flue been fitted to the manufacturers instructions and Benchmark requirements? No,as you have to be suitably qualified in the first place. No registered installer should connect and notify the boiler as they would be breaching the regulations,so if you do get someone to do it for you,can you be sure that they are going to do it right as they would obviously have no regards for the regs anyway.

Can you register a horse with only one registered parent?
Q. Does anybody know if you can register a foal if only one parent is registered? Thanks If so, how do you go about doing it? She is an appendix and I'm looking to breed her to a warmblood. She is a gorgeous mover and I guess her papers were lost a couple of owners ago. I'm trying to find out if the baby would be able to be registered.

A. If only one parent is registered (You didn't say which breed), there are a couple of registries I know of, but don't have any websites where you can contact them. Arabian Horse has a 1/2 registry and for the Thoroughbred "The Remount" registry. IF your horse has colour (Albino, Buckskin, Palomino, Dun, Pinto.) you can register it for colour.

A. I am not familiar with the registration regulations in Australia, but here is my take on things. Papers or no papers, the puppy is the same, however breeders who do not register all thier puppies with a reputable kennel club are not considered to be ethical. Therefore I would be worried about what other corners they are cutting, what other "not quite right" practices they are engaged in when breeding dogs.

Which is better for Registered Nurse, veteran hospital or to join the military?
Q. Which is better for Registered Nurse, veteran hospital or to join the military? Hi, my husband is RN and he wants to join the military but I don t want him to join. So, I am trying to allure him into working for the VA hospital. What are the pros and cons of working at veteran hospital for RN s? I sound like a bad wife but I really just want him to be in safer environment and I don t want us to be separated.

A. www.usajobs.com has job listings for the VA Hospitals. It's kinda strange that they list the salary range for every VA position except nurses, however the ones that I know here at the VA in Fayetteville, Arkansas while not saying a dollar amount do say they get excellent pay. In considering a VA job I would shy away from the ones in the big cities , but then I come from a town so small both city limit signs are on the same pole , so I am prejudiced toward the rural life. Also, a traffic jam is 2 pickup trucks behind a farm tractor on a gravel road.

Brother registered as sole proprietorship and it was supposed to be a partnership?
Q. My brother and I started what was supposed to be a partnership this year. He did all of the registration. After realizing he is a psychopath and finding out he's been stealing and lying, he tells me that I am not a partner, he registered the business as a sole proprietorship, not a partnership. How do I find out if this is true and what do I do tax wise? Is there a way I can find out how the business is registered.

A. First go to where ever he registered the company and pay for a search and copy of the company registration. If in fact it is registered as sole proprietor then he would be responsible for any tax problems. If you have been working for the company, drawing wages and expenses then you are merely an employee. If you think a LARGE amount of money is involved go and talk to a lawyer with the company details you have obtained.

What are the pros of owning a registered horse?
Q. Why is it important that a horse has papers and is registered? Can you register a horse when you're unsure of its parents?
Asked by Lexey~Luther - Sun Nov 22 10:58:24 2009 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. 1. You know its breeding-- parents, potential problem bloodlines, original breeding farm. 2. Often if transfers have been kept up, you know its former owners, and can contact them for information about the horse. 3. You know its age, without a shadow of a doubt. 4. Resell value is usually higher, which can help your horse out if the worst happens and you need to sell it. You can register a horse in certain registries without knowing its parents. Usually that type of registration is a lesser quality, since you take away many of the advantages I listed above. Still, registries have to start somewhere, and while the Grey Horse Registry might be nothing to talk about right now, who is to say it won't be the next AQHA in twenty or thirty… [cont.]

A. Hi, well first of all, nothing is safe with a hungry crocodile...LOL No, I mean whether you used registered mail or courier sending your packages, it may still encounter some strict officer at the customs territory. However, authoritarian may depend on their moods. As long as your package's items are exactly same with your invoice declaration or packing list, its safe.

What does it mean when a dog is DNA registered?
Q. A breeder told me all of his dogs are AKC registered and the father is DNA registered. I looked online and it seems you can send in a test of the DNA for stud dogs but I couldn't tell if some were rejected. If it is DNA registered, what does that mean to me and more importantly its' puppies?

A. Here is a link below that will explain what it means. Here is a quote from the AKC's website: "AKC DNA Profiling is required for: Frequently Used Sires (dogs having the greatest impact on the AKC Stud Book); imported breeding stock; dogs whose semen is collected for fresh-extended or frozen use; and for the sires, dam and puppies for Multiple-Sired Litter Registration. A. It is the value placed on the name and reputation of the "club". There are lots of kennel clubs nowadays. Sometimes someone simply starts printing up registration papers on their computer and calls it a kennel club. It really means nothing. We have had AKC dogs, CKC dogs, APR dogs... They are all just dogs. One really isn't better than another one as long as they fit your home and lifestyle. Each club sets their own guidelines and standards. Compare clubs like you would ivy league schools and simple community colleges. or a walmart brand purse compared to the prada. They are really the same thing, a purse or a dog, but the value is in the name. Unfortunately, AKC is being abandoned on a wide level because they have "gotten to big… [cont.]

How do we sell a car in california that is registered in Washington?
Q. My neice needs to sell her car. She currently lives in Califirnia and never registered it in the state. It is registered in Washington. Does she have to get the car registered in Califirnia and a smog check or can she legally sell as is? Car is 2003 neon.

What is the correct way to use a registered symbol in plain text?
Q. I have to send out an email in plain text, and I need to use the registered symbol in a couple of places. The registered symbol isn't a valid character in plain text, so I need to figure out what the alternative style needs to be. I'm thinking somehting like: mybrand(R) Any ideas on what the correct style is?
